Cybèle Tomlinson is a teacher, mother, and the co-director of the Berkeley Yoga Center. Her yoga background includes study of Kundalini, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vini and Yin Yoga; teachers who have most influenced and inspired her practice and teaching are Sarah Powers, Erich Schiffmann, Richard Miller, Donald Moyer, and Hameed Ali.
Cybèle has over ten years teaching experience of prenatal and postnatal at Berkeley Yoga Center and Kaiser Hospital, S.F. She teaches a Vini yoga class and a Yin/Yang class, which is a blend of Yin yoga and other more rigorous and active styles. She emphasizes cultivating breath and flow in your practice. Classes are challenging, while respecting the body’s limits: students are supported to find their own “edge,” going as deeply as they wish. Cybèle provides an open, nonjudgmental atmosphere in which to become aware of the various layers of inner experience–physically, mentally, and emotionally. She encourages students to work with her privately so that they be supported in inquiring more fully into these experiences and so that they can learn how to tailor a practice to their individual needs. In addition to regular classes and private sessions, Cybèle offers workshops and retreats.
As well as teaching, Cybèle also writes; she is the author of Simple Yoga and Ayurveda Wisdom. She is currently deeply immersed in the Diamond Approach, a contemporary spiritual teaching. She lives with her husband and two sons in Berkeley.

This class is designed for anyone wanting to practice their Spanish skills while flowing from pose to pose. Whether you’re a fluent Spanish speaker or know one or two words, this fun class will energize your body and mind while you learn yoga poses in Spanish.
Yael’s journey with yoga began 14 years ago in at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz. It was here that she took her first Hatha Yoga class out of curiosity and a growing need to look inward. This first class not only helped her physically but also opened her eyes and heart to the power of a daily yoga practice. Yael has curiosity for Yoga through out the years learning through exposure to many styles including Vinyasa, Anusara, and Ashtanga yoga. Yael’s yoga journey has moved her to share its benefits with others, especially those who don’t have access to yoga due to language or lack of exposure. Yael recently completed a 200hr Vinyasa Flow Yoga training program through Barefoot Movement and is currently teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Yoga in Spanish, and Prenatal Yoga around the East Bay.
